Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka is a Belarussian born in Minsk. Her father Sergey (d. 2019) was an athlete in ice hockey. Aryna Sabalenka was born May 5th, 1998, in Minsk Belarus. She has been able to achieve twelve WTA singles championships. This includes an Grand Slam in the Australian Open in 2023. Doubles is another area where she is a pro. The US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both won with Elise Mertens. Together with the Belgian tennis champion, the Belgian also took home an award called the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells as well as Miami in 2019, thus completing the Sunshine Double. Only four women's doubles couples win this title. The singles world ranking climbed yet again, reaching its top position on January 20, 2023. The Belarusian rose up to the top of the doubles rankings in the year following, having winning in Melbourne. It made her the second Belarusian tennis player to achieve success in the field. She was trained by former Russian tennis star Dmitry Tursunov from 2018 until the close of the 2019 season and partly at the beginning of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann was her coach from the month of August through September 2020. Antonio Dubrov has been her coach since the year 2020. Serena Williams is her role for a role model, closely then Maria Sharapova.
